Hi Jill, our sunflowers have come up and they are tall and beautiful. Twice I’ve noticed humming birds flying around them, and I’ve thought of you.
What a beautiful painting your friend sent! And how exciting to know your book is up for pre-order!!! Congratulations!

Hi Jackie! What a pleasure to see you. I figured after the big wedding festivities you’d be conked out. 🙂 I really enjoyed the photos. How nice to be thought of after a hummie sighting. Patsy’s painting is even more beautiful in person. It was a wonderful surprise to receive it in the mail, all the way from California. She’s a sweetheart and so talented. Have a great weekend!

Hi Pix! Thank you so much for all of your support over the years. You’re a peach! Oh yes, there was a lot of squeaks happening. Unfortunately the video is grainy because I shot it through the kitchen window. It really was an incredible sight to see. There were other hummies outside of the camera’s frame…it was crazy. I’ll take that as a compliment about my sissy….can’t wait to see her! Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Clare! Thank you so much for stopping by. I’m happy you enjoyed the post. You’re right, it was very wet that evening. Typically the hummies will continue feeding while it’s raining. On that day, we had a powerful storm with torrential rain. The poor hummies had to take shelter. Twenty minutes later, the rain turned to a drizzle and they came out in droves. They were starving! It was an amazing scene. I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend! xo

Congrats on the book. Of course hummingbirds are my favorites. I don’t intentionally cater to them but I get a surprising number checking out the geraniums. Also the pink, red and yellow flowers on the succulents are a big hit right now. In fact I just went downstairs for another cup of coffee and a hummer was sticking its beak in a succulent flower on the front balcony.

Every day over the last few weeks has brought small lovely surprises but one unexpected was visiting a Walt Disney exhibition ‘The Art of Storytelling’ at the Nordic Watercolour Museum. Jill I love the painting so very special, as are your Hummingbirds. Hope all is well in your part of the world. Question where do the Hummingbirds go in winter?

I love the painting too, Kath. Patsy is so thoughtful and very talented. The hummingbirds often migrate to Mexico and the Caribbean. I’ve heard that some stay in our area, but I’ve never seen one past October. I hope you’re doing well!

I’m not usually a fan of surprises, truthfully. But when they’re nice ones like those you express in this post, well, I’m starting to think I ought to embrace them more! 😉

Honestly, I’m not a fan of surprises either, Christy. I don’t like to be the center of attention, so I prefer the surprise to be for someone else. 🙂
