Celebrating 55 Years

momToday my mother and father celebrate 55 years of marriage.

After all these years, my father still treats my mother as though they were just married. My mother still thinks he’s all that. Together, they’ve taught me what true love is all about…putting the other person first.

Happy Anniversary!

Love you both!

  8. How wonderful! My parents were like that only my Dad died at 55 leaving my mother to live a long time without him. She never remarried. I still remember their relationship even though I was young when he died. Their anniversary is next month.

  11. Wish them Happy Anniversary from me and many more. My parents were married 52 years until my dad passed. She went a year and a half later. My dad always said he would come back as a dog in his next life and mom as a flea on his back. They bickered a lot but couldn’t live without each other. Mutual respect is a hard thing to find in a relationship. They are so fortunate to have found each other and maintained that. I expect you are all celebrating this huge milestone.

      • Jill, just watched “Sleepless in Seattle” (TBS on Sat. afternoon) for the umpteenth time. I thought of your liking this type of film and sending you a hug. Thank you for kind wishes about Mim. She certainly seems like her mind is clear sometimes and all is well, healing and therapy progressing nicely.

  31. Lovely comparison pixs So proud to claim them as family. However, I was “there” when they met and married and was super jealous HE was taking her away. (from me) It’s been 55 years now so he is forgiven. I think.
